Schmidt Science Fellow Visit - Director of Selection and Outreach - February 7th, 2025
The University of Minnesota (UMN) recently hosted David McAllister, Director of Selection and Outreach at Schmidt Science Fellows for a day of intellectual exchange and scientific exploration. The visit spotlighted UMN's multidisciplinary research prowess in fields such as artificial intelligence, climate science, biotechnology, and sustainability and provided an opportunity for students to learn about the fellowship.
Leadership from BBIC and the BioTechnology Institute (BTI) extended a warm welcome to McAllister and presented a comprehensive overview of UMN's exceptional research capabilities in biotechnology and biomanufacturing.
The visit also included an informative tour of the Biotechnology Resource Center (BRC) pilot plant facility, showcasing cutting-edge research infrastructure and a preview of the R&D Co-Lab space currently under development, highlighting UMN's commitment to future scientific advancements.
